I grew up in Cottage Grove, Tom Moys was and still the best Chinese food I have ever had. I remember when it was strictly a take out counter. I remember seeing Mr Moy using an abacus to do his books. He was a nice man and made his customers feel like old friends rather than customers. It was a sad day when he passed away. When they expanded to include a small cafe that was wonderful. The servers were great and always remembered your name and even knew what you would order etc. When I left for the navy my parents would take me to Tom Moys whenever I was home on leave. When my parents passed away they even sent a card. When I have been back to MN I always stop at Tom Moys to eat. I wish we had a place like Tom's here in Indiana where I now live. Nothing compares to them.

I've been going to Tom Moy for over 35 years and it is absolutely the best Asian restaurant in the entire state of Minnesota! my biggest recommendation you can't miss the fried rice it is to die for!

Tom Moy's is great for take-out dinners; delicious food and quick, polite service. I love the real chicken chow mein, the fried rice, the egg fu yung, and the pork wontons are so delicious! The people complaining about the chicken vs real chicken thing must not eat a lot of Chinese take out, because it's quite common. I don't mind it...the real chicken chow mein and the real chicken fried rice are both amazing! The first thing I wanted when I got off the plane from California was Tom Moy's...you just cannot get chow mein like this in California.

Great food. Grew up in this food. Family has been going there for over 28 years. The general tsos and cream cheese wontons are excellent. There's also an inexpensive lunch buffet.

We ordered take out for the first time from here this evening. When we got home part of our order was missing. I called and asked to have the missing food credited back to my check card, because we didn't want to drive back and get the missing food. They refused and said I could come back within a week and pick the missing food. I asked if they were serious and again asked to have the money credited back to my card. Again they refused and said when I come back maybe they'll throw in some extra. It was only $5, but the fact is it was my money and I never received the what I paid for. I hope they enjoy that $5 because I'll never be spending another dollar there.

Great and affordable lunch buffet. Food was very tasty and buffet was well attended and maintained. We'll definitely go back again and again. I did not try anything I did not like.

Tom Moy has the best fried rice. I always order it whenever I am there. I have also never been disappointed by anything else on their menu. They are always extremely friendly and get your order to you quickly and accurately.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
